Staveley has a historical society that was established in April 1999 & has been active in the village ever since.

It holds meetings during the winter months in the village hall, October through to May.

These take the form of talks and lectures by visiting local historians on a variety of subjects.

The society has also produced a village leaflet discussing the older houses of interest in a circular walk.

All meetings are advertised in the Village Parish Magazine, each month.

The society holds a number of historical documents, including old maps, school log books, and old photos.
